Thanks for participating in the Littleton Community Farm Seed Library Victory Garden project! We hope that you and your family enjoy both the gardening experience and the resulting bounty! There are lots of helpful resources online to get you started with your seeds. Here are a few helpful resources to get you started:
Due to temporary Library closure seeds are available via on-line order form
We have a robust collection of FREE vegetable seeds as part of our Seed Library. Many of these are open-pollinated and can be harvested for seed and brought back to share with others. Early spring is a great time to grow high-nutrition greens, such as lettuce and arugula, which could be available within a few weeks.
In light of the library closing, where the seed collection is held, we will be holding distribution sessions on:
Thursday March 26th 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Thursday April 2, 2020 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Seeds must be reserved in advance. No more the 8 packets of seeds per household.
Pick up your seeds at the Littleton Fire Department Parking Lot.

Dear members of Littleton Community Farm,
As pictures of empty or low-stocked grocery stores circulate, small-scale farms, like Littleton Community Farm, will continue to support a resilient, local, just and regenerative food system. Our farm is prepared to address the farm and food resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Victory Garden 2020
In the coming weeks, we have a robust collection of FREE vegetable seeds as part of our Seed Library. Many of these are open-pollinated and can be harvested for seed and brought back to share with others. Early spring is a great time to grow high-nutrition greens, such as lettuce and arugula, which could be available within a few weeks. In light of the library closing, where the seed collection is held, we will be holding distribution sessions at our farm on March 26th 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and March 28th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. We will have knowledgeable volunteers on hand to answer your gardening questions. Seeds must be reserved in advance. No more the 8 packets of seeds per household. Place your order online now!
Annual Seedling Sale
For those of you who do not have the means, knowledge, or time to start your own seeds, please consider buying seedlings from our annual Seedling Sale, to be held at the farm on May 15 and 16. Many fruits and vegetables grown during the summer can be dehydrated, preserved, or frozen for later consumption in the fall and winter. Regardless if you start your own seeds or buy seedlings, gardening gets you outside, boosts morale and helps to avoid isolation. Order your Seedlings online today!
100% Food Donation in 2020
As the COVID-19 crisis subsides, economists are in agreement that it will prompt a recession. Poor and working-class families are disproportionately harmed by such downturns, and families that rely on free school-lunch programs will be especially affected. This year, LCF will be growing an acre of nutritious, high-calorie food for donation to local food pantries with 100% volunteer support. If you have resources to share, please consider donating your volunteer time for an hour of weeding, sowing or planting. Drop-in hours will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday mornings. Please contact Farmer Sara at firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to come or have any questions.
A Vital Season Ahead
We all look forward to the end of the crisis and a bountiful season ahead. Our common experience will demonstrate the need to rethink our current food system, showing the importance of small-scale, local farms as not only more nutritious, accessible, and environmentally sustainable; but also sustainable for consumers, farm workers, communities and our environment.
Your support through volunteering or by making a donation today will ensure the production of the farm for this year to put food on the plates of those who need it in the coming year. Make a donation TODAY to support LCF’s mission and cultivate a vital transformation of the ways we nourish our stomach and spirit.
